Development & Marketing Associate
We’re seeking a development and marketing associate to join Hammock as we expand our digital and offline publishing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Taking ownership of Hammock’s marketing and development initiatives, across performance marketing, social media, campaigns, collaborations and events.
• Creating and managing marketing plans across various digital channels including but not limited to Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads and newsletters.
• Working with the editorial and design team to develop and execute strategies for growing the reach and impact of Hammock.
• Outreach and managing relationships with collaborators and external media, managing freelancers and stakeholders.
• Administrative support and assistance for initiatives that can expand our online and offline publishing, from grant applications to outreach to other related activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a similar role, working on marketing campaigns and particularly digital marketing expertise, ideally in a publishing, magazine or editorial environment.
• Demonstrable expertise in social media and experience in optimising both organic and paid campaigns. Basic design ability or knowledge of Canva, Adobe Suite or Figma is a plus.
• A keen interest in literature, new writing and the changing media landscape.
• A motivated self-starter who can work independently and juggle multiple responsibilities.Confident communication skills, strong time management and a collaborative mindset.
• A college/ master’s degree in a related field.

ASSOCIATE/ CONTRIBUTING EDITOR
We’re seeking an associate/ contributing editor to join Hammock as we expand our digital and offline publishing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Curating and editing three to four original pieces per month, with the potential for more content.
• Managing and developing a network of contributors, writers and freelancers, including planning new initiatives and revisions.
• Working with writers and the marketing team for various collaterals required to publicise edited pieces.
• Working with the editorial and design team on longer-term initiatives and print publishing.
• Administrative support and assistance for initiatives that can expand our online and offline publishing, that may include liaising or coordinating with other team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two or more years’ experience in an editorial role, ideally in a magazine or publishing environment.
• Strong editorial vision, creative point of view, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent with feedback and developmental editing.
• A network of writers, contributors or potential collaborators and a commitment to bringing out the best new writing.
• An energetic and flexible approach to work, strong organisational, time management and planning abilities, as well as excellent communication skills.
• A college/ master’s degree in a related field or relevant experience.
